To tell this story, we need to start by telling you about Susan.
Susan is a dear friend of Mike's family, and her support toward our relationship has been nothing less than spectacular. She is the kind of woman who shows her friends how much she values them, not just because of what she does but also what she says.
One of the gifts she gave us for our wedding was a pizza tray that comes apart like puzzle pieces. (Similar to the one pictured below)
However, when she received it, one of the pieces was broken, so she had to order a new one. But instead of returning the original, she kept it and did something very special with it.
The weekend after the wedding, we made an impromptu trip to San Jose, to spend time with Mike's family before his sister flew back to the East Coast. While there, Susan visited and handed out pieces of the puzzle board, one piece going to each household that was present.
"These pieces," she said, "represent our love and support for Mike and Victoria. Individually, they are fine, but when we put them all together, they form something powerful and beautiful. And whenever you see these pieces, you'll think about Mike and Victoria, and you'll think about how you support their marriage through your love."

It was a really lovely, wonderful gesture, and we just wanted to make sure to immortalize it the best that we could.
